SportsGearOutdoors launched with the mission of providing a large selection of products, services and resources to those in the sports, outdoors, recreation, health and fitness community. We started the company in the Minnesota River Valley community of Saint Peter, near Mankato. The Mankato area is home to several awesome outdoors destinations including Land of Memories Park, Minneopa State Park (where you can see a preserve of buffalo/bison as well as a beautiful waterfall), Sakatah Trail, Red Jacket Trail, Madison Lake resort community, Duck Lake, Lake Emily, Rapidan, Mount Kato ski and snowboard hill, Mankato area BMX track and skate park, Verizon Wireless Center (home of MNSU Mavericks Hockey), Mankato Moondogs baseball stadium and many more. Visit Mankato is an organization that provides great information about local events, places and attractions. Also check out the Mankato Gazette, a local online newspaper and tourism guide.

Beyond Mankato, there are so many outdoors destinations in the state that one post on this blog alone would not do it justice. If you are visiting Minnesota, you can find a ton of visitor information once you reach any one of the border areas (if you are driving out here) or at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP). The Twin Cities is one of the largest metro areas in the Midwest. Major attractions for sports fans include the new U.S. Bank Stadium where the Minnesota Vikings play, the Target Center and Target Field where the Twins, Timberwolves and Lynx play, the TCF Bank Gopher Stadium for the U of M football team, Excel Center where the Wild play and the Minnesota United Soccer Stadium, which is currently under construction.

Because the Twin Cities is in the Mississippi River valley, it is also a destination for outdoors enthusiasts. There are plenty of parks and lakes to sail, jet ski, boat, fish, hunt, water ski, wake board, hike, walk/jog, canoe/kayak, go camping, play sports and much more. If you are looking for tours, contact Renee's Limousines in Minneapolis.

Duluth is also a huge outdoors destination. Home to the world's largest lake, Lake Superior, you can see massive international ships port, see the famous lift bridge, go on an adventurous hike, take a canoe or kayak trip along the St. Louis or Lester Rivers, go camping at a park or resort, go fishing in numerous locations in the area and play sports of any kind. Check out destinations like Gooseberry Falls, Leif Erickson Park and many others.

The Rochester, Winona and Zumbrota areas area are great places to visit in the Southeastern part of the state, near beautiful LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Check out the famous bluffs there and more Mississippi River fun.

Up north (as we call it) is the real outdoors Mecca of the state. Here you will find the great outdoors in Alexandria, Leech Lake, Bemidji, Red Lake (home to Red Lake Native American Indian Reservation), the Boundary Waters, International Falls and several others in the great north farther toward Canada. These are opportunities for the best hunting, fishing and wildlife expeditions as well as camping, hiking, boating and much more.
